Relationship and Marriage Counseling

Relationships can begin to feel painful, disconnected, exhausting, or stuck in the same repeated conflicts. Many couples find themselves struggling with communication, emotional distance, trust issues, parenting stress, resentment, intimacy concerns, or simply feeling more like roommates than partners.

Relationship counseling can provide a supportive space to slow down, understand one another more clearly, improve communication, rebuild connection, and work toward healthier patterns together. Whether you are dating, engaged, married, or navigating a difficult season in your relationship, counseling can help you move forward with greater understanding, honesty, and emotional connection.

We welcome couples from all backgrounds and also offer faith-integrated counseling for those who would like Christian values thoughtfully incorporated into the counseling process.

Relationship Counseling May Help With:

  • Communication struggles

  • Frequent conflict or arguments

  • Emotional disconnection

  • Parenting stress

  • Trust concerns or betrayal

  • Intimacy challenges

  • Premarital counseling

  • Relationship strengthening

When Relationship Counseling is not the right choice:

Relationship counseling is most effective when both individuals are able to participate safely, honestly, and respectfully in the counseling process.

Couples counseling may NOT be appropriate at this time if:

  • There is physical violence or fear for personal safety

  • There is ongoing emotional, verbal, sexual, or financial abuse

  • One partner feels intimidated or unable to speak openly

  • There is active coercion, manipulation, or controlling behavior

  • One partner is only attending to “prove the other person is the problem”

  • There is severe untreated addiction that is interfering with daily functioning

  • One or both partners are unwilling to participate respectfully in sessions

In these situations, individual counseling, addiction treatment, crisis support, or safety-focused services may be recommended before beginning relationship counseling.

If you are unsure whether couples counseling is the best fit for your situation, we are happy to talk with you further.
